No man is an island. An appeal for money for relief, recovery, and reconstruction for the Hurricane Ivan victims in Grenada

The once beautiful island of Grenada was totally devastated by hurricane Ivan on September 7, 2004. The first wave of relief from many countries has come and gone. Still we are left with thousands of roofless homes and thousands of homeless people.

One can not imagine the devastation the island has endured without personally experiencing such a destructive natural phenomenon. The disruption of communication and transportation was coupled with the destruction of the two main industries - agriculture and tourism. The people were left without homes, water, electricity, and clothing. Loss of schools and jobs will cause long-term economic impact.

GR3 is a grassroots organization comprised of concerned individuals who are trying to raise money for the sole purpose of rebuilding Grenada. We are all volunteers from all walks of life, professors, bankers, business persons, students, builders, electricians, to name just a few. We are working with the government, local church groups, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way.
